HOPE- Your WOW message of the Week

April 9, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week April 9 -15, 2023, is here!

HOPE

Believe in the possibility of what could be.

Definition: faith, desire, chance, ardent wish

Other: optimism, belief, dream, endurance

Opposite: doubt, disbelief, skepticism, to give up

My go-to symbol of hope is a daffodil. This cheery harbinger of spring begins arising following the dark and stormy days of winter when the world seems dreary and sunny days seem so very hard to imagine.

We are all going through a historic worldwide shift in life as we know it. During this time of COVID-19, our lives are rapidly changing, and this uncertainty is scary. This season of so much uncertainty can feel like the longest, scariest “winter” we have ever experienced.

We too, can be like the daffodil: a symbol of hope and enduring faith in the midst of trial and hardship. She has gone through a season of seeming dormancy to arise anew in all her splendor and glory. She emerges enrobed in a vibrant display for all the world to see. She is victorious and beautiful: a symbol of strength, resiliency and renewal.

We can choose hope, to believe in the possibility of what could be. We can choose optimism. We can choose to see the experience or hardship as a life-lesson or perhaps even as a gift.

A precious friend is facing a health challenge and she chose the word HOPE as her focus word for 2020. She wants to thrive and is choosing to focus on the hope in each procedure, each test, each day moving forward. Each day, embracing hope.

I’m loving the above quote about Hope:
“If you only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let is be hope. Let it be hope that better things are always ahead. Let it be hope that you can get through even the toughest of times. Let it be hope that you are stronger than any challenge that comes your way. Let it be hope that you are exactly where you are meant to be right now, and that you are on the path to where you are meant to be…because during these times, hope will be the very thing that carries you through.”
Nikki Banas

How can you cultivate hope in your heart to continue living life better?

Healing - WOW message of the week

April 2, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week April 2 - 8, 2023, is here!

HEALING

My inner healer knows what to do. I am healthy.

Definition: process of making or becoming sound or healthy again
Other: get better, improve, mend
Opposite: get worse, ill, harmful

Healing is definitely a BUZZ word at this time of COVID-19. This is uncharted territory and although it is easy to succumb to doubt, drama and fear there is another option. When the energy is buzzing in our bodies gathering still more information, we need to pause, figure out the next right move and proceed one step at a time.

This alternative attitude of balance, trust, ease and ongoing awareness can lead us to lifestyle choices which can be medicine. Invite your body to accept a new reality by taking good care of it, having a positive mental attitude and a strong spiritual connection. Stay in the NOW!

The point of power is always in the present moment.
-Louise Hay

We need strong foundations of sleep, nutrition, breathing, movement, stillness, being in nature, connecting with others, play and laughter. It is unrealistic to think we can maintain a perfect balance but by making adjustments we can bring ourselves back to center. It is easier to navigate challenges when we feel good. Quiet the mind and listen to your inner healer. Turn on the medicine in your body using techniques that work for you. When we heal ourselves we help to heal the world. Raise your expectations about healing and then look for ways to make your vision come true. At this time we are also doing without hugs and invoking physical distancing so I am substituting blessings, for my girls, family, friends and the world. I spend time each day sending these blessings.

A blessing is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal and strengthen.
-John O’Donohue

Books I read and study:

The Healer Within-Roger Jahnke, O.M.D.
You Can Heal Your Life-Louise Hay
Eat Well MoveWell Live Well-Roland & Galina Denzel
The Well Life- Briana and Dr. Peter Borten

Affirmation I am using at this time:

I am well.
I am safe.
I am strong.

May you know the magic of your inner healer to continue living life better.

Becky and Janette

Lifeline- WOW message of the week

March 26, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week March 26 - April 1, 2023, is here!

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the week for Living Life Better.

LIFELINE

You are not alone.

Definition: a thing on which someone depends
Other: support, anchor, someone you depend on
Opposite: let down, not helpful

We all need a lifeline at this scary time filled with anxiety and uncertainty. We need to be gentle with ourselves and prioritize our health-physical and mental. As we navigate through a difficult season, lost without our everyday distractions, forced to slow down, we need to take the time to be kind, even from a distance.

There is an abundance of love, kindness and peace available when we support, help and assist others. We can take the energy of our dreams that we had planned and channel it into friendly gestures, smiles, waves and acts of kindness.

We are canceling planned celebrations and missing moments that bring us together. We are feeling unsettled. If you don’t feel happy, calm and in control there is a lifeline available. The steps we take to find our way are individual for each of us.

I live by myself but I am not alone. I can reach out to my daughters, friends, social media and other ways too. One of my favorite alone activities includes BOOKS. Books make things more bearable and you don’t feel alone when participating in adventures and maybe even danger while reading in your snug cocoon. Books have the power to connect us and transform our thinking.

This is the time to bring out the best in each of us. It is a time for kindness, for calling a friend, hunkering down with loved ones and finding ways to help those who are in need. It may be as simple as sending a card, smiling at the neighbor across the street, or using sidewalk chalk to leave an uplifting message. Or it could be sending dinner to someone who is out in the world, working everyday, exhausted, trying to protect themselves and their family.

Think about how you can make a difference.
We’re in this together.
If you reach each out,
You are not alone.

I can be the right reminder at the right time
Throwin’ out the lifeline

Reset - WOW message of the week

March 19, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week March 19 - 25, 2023, is here!

RESET

Definition: begin anew, fresh start, clean slate

Other: move, readjust, recalibrate, balance

Opposite: blighted, out of alignment, unsteady

I feel like the entire world is in a reset mode with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting so much of our daily lives right now.

Elders are being advised to stay indoors, children are home from school, parents, neighbors and villages are re-examining ways to get our basic needs met during these extraordinary times.

The world as we know it is basically shutting down for an extended period of time. At this writing, it is for 3 weeks, 21 days. Interestingly enough, a 21 day period is the recommended amount of time it takes to ingrain a new habit.

People are cooking and eating together at home. Connecting. Rekindling a passion for the simple things in life which are so very important.

We could moan and groan about the inconveniences of it all (and there are plenty!) spending our precious life-force energy cultivating the negative or we could treat this experience as a gift: a time of global and personal reset. A time of rest, re-examination and re-adjustment: a time of reset.

I am taking this opportunity of social distancing and sheltering-in-place as an opportunity to redefine my truth by digging deep and asking the tough questions and responding with love.

This is an inner process and by government decry, this unprecedented period of time is affecting us all.

Is it possible this time of connecting with those we live with is a social reset for the many years we have been going, going, going, doing more, more, more and have lost connection with our ourselves, our Source or our precious ones?

I’m asking myself questions like:

What is most important to me?
Do my friends and loved ones know how important they are to me?
Am I spending my time on the right or most important things?
Am I treating myself as a beloved?
What do I need right now?

We can use this gift of sheltering-in-place as a glorious gift to:

Start over.
Begin again.
Today is a new day.

How can resetting something today help you live life better?
Find the Good,
Becky and Janette

Desire - WOW message of the week

March 13, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week March 13-19, 2023, is here!

DESIRE

What do you yearn for?

Definition: to wish, dream or long for: crave
Other: passion, wanting or yearning
Opposite: dislike, disgust, repugnant

Here are a couple of great quotes about desire:

“Within the seed of your desire is everything necessary for it to blossom to fulfillment. And Law of Attraction is the engine that does the work. Your work is just to give it a fertile growing place in order to expand.”
Abraham-Hicks

“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.” Napoleon Hill

Desire is a very personal motivator. What I desire could be quite different from what you desire, and this difference helps form us as unique individuals and makes the world a more interesting and varied place.

I love the term “my heart’s desire” and believe that desire really does come from a place of feeling, a place from our heart, a place from our inner power.

Today’s invitation is to spend some time thinking about what you truly desire in life. Below are a few questions or journal prompts you may choose to consider. Let’s just keep it simple and list a few desires which are present for us now.

What do I desire?

What am I doing to achieve my desire?

What is a roadblock in the way of achieving my desire?

Another invitation is to consider if you are living your desire or making strides to making your desired outcome occur.

How can focusing on your desire or desires assist you in Living Life Better?

Becky and Janette

ENERGY

Shine your light.

Definition: strength/vitality required for activity, spiritual force from living beings
Other: life, power, passion, get-up-and-go
Opposite: lethargy, dullness, stagnation

Let the body think of the Spirit as streaming, pouring, rushing and shining into it from all sides.
-PLOTINUS

Energy gives life to the body.
You have the ability to help yourself feel better, think and function more effectively by becoming attuned to the energies within and around you. This energy force is real, and always there even if you don’t believe in it.

There must be some primal force,
but it is impossible to locate.
I believe it exists, but cannot see it.
I see its results,
I can even feel it,
but it has no form.
-Zhuang Zi, Fourth Century B.C.E.

You can expand the energy within yourself by utilizing smiles, laughter, stillness, movement and numerous other ways. Energy medicine recognizes energy as a vital, living, moving force and changes the way you look at healing and health. There is a Daily Energy Routine from Donna Eden that is life-changing. For more information check out Donna Eden https://edenmethod.com/about/

I attend a Qigong class every Wednesday. Qigong is working and playing with Qi (Chi). It has been around for thousands of years. I always leave feeling much better. I often use these energy tools in my daily life to turn my day around, enhance a feeling or increase immunity. I LOVE anything energy related because it is so powerful.

Qi is free, it is everywhere and everyone has direct access to it through simple methods that are easy to learn and practice. Qi can be cultivated purposely to resolve any challenge or enhance any function.
-Roger Jahnke, O.M.D.

Cultivating Qi (your energy) will make you more vital, magnetic and productive.
Step into the light.
Share your gifts and talents with the world

Wonder - WOW message of the week

February 27, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week Feb. 27, 2023 thru Mar. 5, 2023, is here!

WONDER

What is one thing that makes you light up in wonder?

Definition: to think or speculate, to be filled with awe, marvel or adoration

Other: surprise, astonishment, curiosity or reverent admiration

Opposite: cataclysmic, anticipation, expectation, ordinary

Do you remember looking at something for the very first time in a state of complete awe or wonder?  How did it make you feel?

I remember as a young child looking at the lights and decorations at Christmas, the beauty and smell of the tree, the sounds of carols and bells and words spoken thousands of years before from the angels…Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy…  That was one of my first instances of wonder.   Seeing Disneyland for the first time.  Holding a newborn baby or animal. Seeing Yellowstone and Yosemite for the first time are other examples of wonder.

Here are a few favorite quotes about Wonder
“May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven around the heart of wonder.”
John O'Donohue
For Presence, To Bless the Space Between Us (titled Benedictus in Europe, Ireland and UK).

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” e. e. cummings

“I hope you never lose your sense of wonder.
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger.
May you never take one single breath for granted.
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed.
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens.
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance…

From Lee Ann Womack – I Hope You Dance

HOW CAN YOU SPARKLE YOUR CURIOSITY TO SEE BEYOND THE ORDINARY?

Find beauty
Enjoy stillness
Look at your world through the lens of childlike innocence
Delight your heart in a simple pleasure
Create something just for the fun of it
Stand at the ocean, lake, river or stream, forest or mountain
Enjoy watching the ever-changing sky
Re-read a favorite childhood book

Choosing to live life better will increase your level of wonder.

What is one area of your life that needs a childlike dose of wonder?

Well-Being- WOW message of the week

February 20, 2023 Janette Stuart

Welcome to the WOW Card of the Week series. A new card will be featured every week for you to think about, mull over, and maybe change something to fill your life with well-being and wonder.

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the Week Feb. 19, 2023 - Feb. 26, 2023, is here!

Your Words of Wisdom (WOW) Guidance Card of the week for Living Life Better.

WELL-BEING

What is one thing to make your life better?

Definition: the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy
Other: in good health, security, prosperity, happiness
Opposite: unhappiness, dissatisfaction, misery

Well-being can encompass many areas of your life:
-Physical
-Economic
-Social
-Emotional
-Psychological

Well-being is associated with longevity, healthy behaviors, mental and physical health, social connectedness, productivity, better immune functioning with speedier recovery and more.

Sometimes it's good to evaluate your life and well-being.
What is working?
What can I let go of?
What do my daily habits bring to my level of well-being?
How do you want to feel?

For the last few weeks, I have chosen to concentrate on physical health by tweaking and hacking sleep hygiene. It is a slow process to figure out what will work and what does not.

Well-being is a journey and a destination.

HOW CAN WELL-BEING BE IMPROVED?

Accept your emotions.
Live in the NOW.
Listen to your intuition.
Silence.
Laughter.
Practice gratitude.
Get inspired.
Meditate.
Breath work.
Connect.
Be active.
Keep learning.
Give.
ETC……..

Choosing to live life better will increase your level of well-being.
What is one area of your life that needs a boost of well-being?

I see this day as a positive, new beginning.
-Abraham
